bushing removal replacement steering

any advice on removing the bushings and replacing them on the steering sector shaft is appreciated. I have the shaft out and and have a new one and new bushings. is there a tool for this. ifound a socket that's the same diameter , maybe use this to drive them out ? thanks john

I would recommend taking it along with the shaft to a good machine shop. This needs to be a tight fit.

Get a Sector housing that has been modified to accept two needle bearings. Snyders has nice ones. I sure like mine and it fit so well.

I you don't want to do this, make or buy a bushing driver that is 0.003 under the bore size and tap in.. Carefully.
