Bumper Clamp Decals

Snyder's sell blue bumper clamp decals for the outer bumper clamps and blue for the center clamp. I have read in the "How to restore your Model A magazine Volume three" that the color changed in 1931 to black. My question is does anyone know where they sell the black ones. All I find in Snyder's are the blue ones.

why not paint them. they have the blue color in small bottles. The vendors should have black also.

I have painted them but I thought they would be more pronounced on the edges different than hand painting them. Thanks

Never heard of black on the clamps. I'll have to look at the standards when I get home.

I think what Mr. Bidonde meant to say in Vol 3, page 42 of "How to Restore Your Model A" was that the "Backside (of the clamp was) painted black"...THIS is according to the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards for which you should get a copy of.

The recesses were always painted blue from start of production through the end of production
