Broken light switch rod - How to repair?

Nothing lost here,,, you tried every avenue of approach and was smitten by late 70's early 80's poor quality Model A parts...

The good news is, the new ones sound like they are a lot better made;)

You're right, Jeff! Putting the two light switch assemblies side by side is like night and day in terms of quality. The new one is SOOOOO much better! Gawd, did Model A repo parts in the 1970's and 1980's suck scissors! Newbies coming into the hobby since then don't know how good they have it, although I am seeing an alarming drop-off in availability of some parts. :(

HA!!

Yes on that----
A friend is in the middle of a 1930 Coupe restoration and he has been telling me that he has been on the phone with most of the major Model A parts suppliers, and they have been telling him a lot of the sources for good Model A parts are drying up. Fast. Nobody is stepping up and filling the parts demand for many parts today. They are just letting their stocks run out.
