Under the term...**** happens ! I had a broken door hinge pin in the lower door hinge. All the bolts came out clean except one and of course it broke off as I was turning. Has anyone got any good remedies for removing such a bolt in the small 3" x 3" door hinge area ?

Many thx....Mike

does your hinge have 2 in jamb area and 2 inside of hinge on the body side if so the inner ones go to a plate if you have a vent you can remove it and get to it if its on the door better off removing it and re drill and tap if your feeling lucky you could try to do it on the truck I'm doing a late 65 and had the same problem

Frank yes two to the body plate and 2 in the jam area. I have a vent on the other side I can look to see if I can remove the plate.

Thx much ......Mike

Frank.....

Started to drill out the broken bolt and the whole thing twisted out !!! I've made up a 2" x 3" plate to tack weld in place and re-bolt hinge from that. Are we having fun yet ?

that plate is made to slide side to side for door adjustment it held by a little strap mine die the same thing I'm thinking of weather strip adhesive to hold it while I start the bolts this way I can still make adjustments

Frank....mine does not have any adjustment sliding plate. I do have those in the doors when you mount, but no where else. I made the backing plate and will bolt to the underside of the fender well floor and secure with a couple 3/8" bolts. Then bolt up in the door jam before sliding the door into place to hang.

We'll see how it works !!
