Brasswrks question

Brassworks offers an option on their Model A radiators of "formed relief in fins and sidewalls" which is "an embossed sidewall that fits to the hand scalloped fins like OE". They want an additional $175 for this option.

Does this serve any practical purpose other than for the person who wants to simulate original? Does it affect fitment? All my other radiators have, as far as I know, straight sidewalls and I've not seen an issue.

My car is a driver, and I'm inclined to pass on this option. But I'd appreciate hearing from any of you that have installed Brassworks radiators, with or without this option. It's a lot of bucks just for the basic radiator but with the passing of Berg's we really don't have a lot of choice these days.

Also - as long as I'm going to bite the big bullet, pressurized vs. non-pressurized?

Thanks, all.

Good afternoon...I've been using a Brassworks 4lb Radiator for just under 20 years. My 31 Tudor with a Snyder 5.9 head on the engine runs about 170 here in the Arizona Desert. The Radiator has been great. I added a return tank from Speedway which is helpful keeping the overflow off the floor! Otherwise the old girl pretty stock...Oh...I do have a Alternator, 6 volt. Ernie in Arizona

A pressurized radiator will exacerbate any leaks. it is really only necessary if you plan on running your engine at 200 F or more.

With all the options available from Brassworks. It would be nice to know the real differences, like between driver, extreme, hi flow, etc.

Pressurized would be better, runs cooler and no more adding water as often. Fixed my overheating from the original stock one.
