BRAND new to flatheads

Hi All,
I'm Tom, I'm brand new to flathead motors, I've been more of a late 60's early 70's weekend builder, hence the user ID, I had a 1970 dodge coronet I was working on before I joined the Air Force...anyway...My dad passed in 2011 and was a big hot-rodder and my grandfather is almost completely blind but can rebuild a Model-A by feel(not joking). So as a tribute to the both of them I've been thinking about building a mild flathead hot rod. My question to the guru's is, where in the world do I start? I've been Googling for info for a couple weeks but there is SO much info out there. If you guys were to start over with no real knowledge, where would you start? sorry if this is a really broad question, but even a "hey new guy, be more specific about (enter subject)" would be a start. Thanks.

Tom

I sent you a PM but in case you don't get it;
I would start by signing up and posting on H.A.M.B. it at the link in the drop down;

The guys there do the hot rod thing. The guys that post on Fordbarn mostly do original cars with a few that have some Flathead (4 or 8 cylinder) speed equipment.
