Brake Lining Material

The 'rule' used to be, boned for cast iron & woven for Ford steel.

You could use woven with cast iron, expecting more frequent adjustments.

This makes the assumption your mechanical restoration of the brake system is back to 100% factory Ford.

In previous discussions about brake linings, the ones from Randy Gross had the highest rating for cast iron drums.

FYI.

I spoke with Randy, and he said to put the composite on the cast drums and woven on the steel drums. You do not want woven on the cast drum because it is too abrasive.
