Brake line routing

I have a 1939 pickup that some one who was " handy" had been working on. They routed the front hard line about 6" in front of the crossmember and it sits out there bouncing up and down. I know that the line will fatigue and I will be in trouble if I leave it this way. My Lincoln had the line attached to the front of the crossmember, but I see no holes for clamps to hold the line. I see no holes for clamps in the rear of the crossmember either. I have not found a stock '39 or '40 Ford to check out how the line is run from the left to the right side of the car. Could some one check there car/pickup and let me know how their vehicle is done? TIA

I'll have to go look. I did my brake line job 3 years ago. I remember the line ran across on the lip of the front cross member. I put a fitting in the middle as my engine was in place and the line has to go across and up the other side.

On my '41 pickup the line runs in one piece from the tee at the left front to the right flex. This line run along the back side of the front cross member. I was able to preform and install it from the under side with no problem. There are holes on the cross member to fasten clips to. I do not know if the holes were stock. I used them due to the same concerns about fatigue.

Send me your email address and I can send you good detailed photos of how that line runs.
