Brake free up procedure

Looking at buying a T that has been sitting for 40 years. It has been inside the whole time.If the car will not roll due to brakes sticking how will I go about freeing them up?
My first T and am thinking of issues I may run into to get it on my trailer.

The brake is in the transmission, squirt it with oil before trying to move it. You should also make sure it has the neutral adjusted properly and things should be OK.

Be sure you attempt to roll that Ford with the clutch lever (clutch/parking brake) pulled straight up, if its fully forward the clutch spring is pushing on the clutch disc pack and the car is in 'gear'. If the lever is fully back, the rear drum brakes are on, and its locked at the rear wheels. Put the lever straight up to roll the Ford.

Likely the clutch discs are stuck together. The Ford clutch pack runs in the motor's oil too, and the oil over long time can congeal and 'freeze' the discs so they won't turn on one another as needed for 'neutral'. As the planetary transmission isn't a selective gear type, you need to free up the discs. That is somewhat hard to do without the engine running, as the oil would be heated up and free itself from the disc surfaces.

So just pull the hand lever (clutch/parking brake lever) to mid way, so that the cam on the underneath cross shaft pushes up on the clutch lever sticking out the left side of the crankcase. That is the 'neutral' position. Then just drag mechanically the Ford a short distance up on your trailer.

Alternate is to remove both rear wheels, but you need a hub puller to get the wheels off most times, lots of strength, and lots of penetrating oils, but if you get the wheels off, remove the key from the key way in the axle, grease that axle shaft, and replace the wheel hub and wheel without the key in the keyway. The rear wheels will then roll independent of the rear end, drive line, and the stuck together transmission clutch discs.

Picked up the T today along with it's 5 siblings. Surprisingly all but 3 tires took air and they all rolled easily. Here are pics of all 6.

It is always nice to see Model T's in their "As Found" glory. We seem to restore most of them out of it.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
