Brake drum turning

Guys-

Need some help on this. I have a '36 rear drum that needs to be turned. Currently it is 0.010" over, so I have some room. However, I can't find anyone who has the equipment to do it. I live near Grand Rapids, MI. Anyone know of a source that can do it?

Instead of trying brake places go to a large machine shop.

Mine are at b&f napa in plymouth Michigan. Not close to you but if all else fails.

Be aware that not many shops have the old school equipment to turn '32-48 era rear drums. If they don't have the proper tooling they can screw up a good drum.

Try asking at a meeting of your local Model A or Early V8 club.

I had mine turned at the local Autozone store. I don't know if this is available at all of their stores. Good Luck.

Flatheadfan, I had the rear drums for my 41 turned at the Car Quest on 28th street. Its down at the east end near Cascade/I-96. You know, right where all the construction is now.

Thanks for the tip. As for the construction, that has to be the worse traffic nightmare in the entire state!
