Is this type of brake drum separate from the hub?

What car model and make? It looks like it might be. Loosen the lug nuts and tap on drum with a brass or lead hammer.

It's a 32-34 type hub/drum. The drum is swedged in place but I for one have reworked them so the drum is removable. As stock, though, while 2 piece, those pieces are effectively held together by the studs.

Yep you have to mill out the swedged part(there is a tool looking like a tube with a cutter) or you have a fair chance damaging parts just ramming them out with a hammer.

Thanks. Figured it out. It was not tight and hub/drum assembly pulled of by hand after a couple of light raps with a hammer. This is on a 35 Ford sedan, project car that someone else started. Has Bendix style brakes.

I thought that looked like a '35 drum, but since I couldn't see a side view of the outer surface of brake shoe contact area, I wasn't 100% sure.
Also, all the rear '35 drums that I own have the separate two piece hub/drum construction held together by sweged studs....except for the open style "Rockey Mountain" type '35 rear drums which are of the one piece construction.
If that drum came off the tapered axle that easily, the tapers of drum hub and axle were not mating properly, and/or the axle nut was not torqued down correctly. Just sayin'
