Brake drum paint

I have used a good name brand black shake can paint.

Heat has not been a problem.

I check the drums after almost every long drive to see if I might have a brake hanging up.

Sometimes they are warm but never hot. Enjoy.

I had my drums powder coated. After 2 years and 5,000 miles, they're holding up remarkably well.

I used a high temp engine paint - trust me, the brakes on MY Vicky DO get hot

I ordered the bands from Bert’s for these steel drums. Looking forward to getting engine repairs over with, then on to installing the brake drum bands.

We recommend using a high temp paint that would be used for engines, brake calipers, or BBQ's. Use a gloss finish (not satin or flat) as a gloss finish helps to prevent brake and / or road dust from sticking to the surface. When washing wheels with soap / cleaner and water, hitting the drums with the water knocks off most of the dust.
