bradley floor pans

I specifically asked if he had the item requested in stock and he stated "yes, with or without the battery box? ". At no time did he say he say he was backordered or that the order would be delayed. He stated he had the part and explained how it would be shipped. Payment was made upon that representation.

I think this is pretty easy to understand.

All I can say, after reading the last few posts is, CHILDREN, GO TO YOUR ROOMS.

Good things come to those who wait.

Check reply #30 on 03-26-2011 from "kwmpa" regarding his thoughts on Drake "40 coupe front floor pan installed in a panel delivery, [I could not figure out to copy & paste his reply to my question.]

roadster36 -- i would demand your money back and order drakes new `40 pan. it is made out of one piece like original . i know you will have less problems installing it. bradleys pans used to be good because they were the only ones made that had the original stampings in them but being made out of 3 sections made it extremley difficult to make the floor not look patched and that still hasn`t changed. they require a ton of work to make them look factory and still no cigar for any body restoring a car to original show car quality. these guys that still use his `40 pans should wake up. there`s a better product out there by far and you don`t have to wait.

How close are the Bob Drake front 40 pans to fitting a 37 Tudor ? Anyone know ? The frames are primarily the same. I would think the transmission cover may need to be replaced. Not going for originality as it has hydraulic brakes and an 8BA. Thanks Zeke

Unless the guy has a giant press and the correct dies, the part is not going to be delivered soon. One off fabrication take time and like the rest of us, Paul isn't getting any younger. I know nothing about Mr. Bradley but I do know that weather and health problems among other things can really slow a "Made By Hand" operation down. Metal work is like any other form of art work except you keep repeating what you are doing. If a person is in a hurry move in with Paul and help him make your pans. If he doesn't like you, he'll have yours pans done right quick.

I PUT BRADLEY FLOOR PANS IN BACK IN THE 90s-DONT REMEMBER WAITING TO00 LONG FOR DELV:) That part was easy--took 14 year of swapmeets etc. to get all parts needed. BEST TIMES!!!

I'm in the same boat as a lot of other people. I have an order in and paid for for a rear section floor pan for my 33 tudor. I received one section and I couldn't be happier with the product. When I ordered the rear section Paul told me it would be done right away. He had my credit card number from the previouss order and took my money for the new part. That was almost two years ago. I have talked to him and he always has a story. Now he doesn't even answer the phone. I'm almost ready to give in. I don't know if I can go through the credit card company to get my money back. I will send him a letter with the picture of the car and let him know that I'm not that happy. Dennis

I have heard that Paul Bradley's pans were as perfect as Henry Ford's in every detail. Is that true, and how do Bob Drake's pans compare?
Thanks,
Daran from PA

I finished installing a set of Pauls floorpans in my 39 Zephyr Coupe. They are a dead ringer to the originals. As far as I know he is the only source for the Zephyr pans ,this was the second Zephyr I replaced the pans in,great product.

I've spoken to Paul several times. I'm about a year out from having ordered and paid in full for my '36 pans. Looks like I've got another year to wait. Maybe I'll see him at Hershey.
Chrome plating promises are no better. My parts were promised for mid-July. When I called they had not been touched. So much for car restoration!

I've been wait almost three years. Paul called me in January and told me he had them "almost ready". He charged my card back in January and I've heard nothing since.

I've started the process with the credit card company to have the charges removed. As far as I'm concerned it's theft.

Four years ago I used all of Paul Bradley's pans in my '39 coupe and have since just finished installing Bob Drake’s pans in my ’40 coupe. Bradley’s required 5 times the labor to install, while Drake’s came as complete, larger sections matching the original factory seam locations. Unlike Bradley’s, Drake’s were correctly die-stamped with all the crisp, original details, and not in smaller-than-original segments needing considerable additional joining as Mr. Bradley’s did. I especially praised Drake’s for including the driveline tunnel being built-in, just like the original Ford units. My simple conclusion is that Mr. Bradley's pans are usable, but Bob Drake's are superior.

I don't know about Drake's, but Paul's are perfect. Best on the market. Paul is much nicer to deal with than Drake too. I just wish Paul were a little faster on delivery, but his stuff is well worth the wait. My 2¢

If you haven't seen Drake's floor pans, then how can you logically say that Paul's are "Best on the market"? I've used both Paul's and Drake's and you need to check out Drake's too. I think you'd declare a new "Best on the Market" award. Drake simply makes a better floor pan system for '39-40 coupes, hands-down, and they were in stock, out the door and on their way to me within 24 hours, but then again, it only took Paul Bradley 11 months to deliver the ones I used on my '39 four years ago. I guess for Bradley, that would be considered a special rush-order today!

Have ordered Drake's front floor pan, now trying to get my money back from Bradley who won't answer his emails. His sense of business is horible. I have given him till the end of August to provide the parts or refund my money. He should be flush with cash after receiving all the money and providing nothing. I will pursue it. Zeke

As a impartial bystander. Having never purchased floor pans from anyone.

Having run a small repair business. In the spring when everyone needed their tack repaired right now. When we got a stack to the ceiling we just refused to take on any more work no matter what they said.

It seems to me the real problem is just his business model. If he stuck to his guns and refused to take any new orders so long as he is backloged, the problem is solved. He is doing more to harm his reputation by taking money without shipping parts than doing anyone a favor.

Just my 2 cents

At one time Paul would not take payment until he had his product ready to go out the door. I tried to pay him up front in order to put pressure on him to get the floor pans. I met him at Charlotte once and have never met a nicer person. He told me he had lost a staff member (a welder?) and was having difficulty finding someone the last time I talked to him.

If I was a younger man I would like to own that business. A good product at a good price and lots of demand.

Bradley has been selling that story to me for YEARS. He called in January and told me he had pans ready to go. He charged my credit card and I have not heard from him since. No replies to email, nothing.

I plan on filing theft charges with his local police.

I just completed installation of Paul's floorpans and tunnel and it was a lot of work to get it right. There was considerably more trimming required than he told me. The beads were not formed as the original ones were which really surprised me as I thought his products were supposed to be spot on. I was very lucky based on the stories presented here as I only waited a little more than a month. My car is a driver, not a points car, so I am satisfied with what I got. If I had to do it again I would go with Drakes.

Did you get your money refunded? I am in the same situation and have contacted several other customers who were charged for item that were never delivered. This is in violation of state and Federal statutes. It is time to end this.

Just talked to Bradley he returned my call said he would refund my money. I will see ! I was fileing a complaint with the USPS when he called so I canceled the complaint. I just heard from the trucking Co. my floor pans from Drake will be here Tuesday the 6th of September. Zeke
