Has anyone built an inexpensive bracket for a homemade tool box? The package is too expensive for me. I would appreciate in knowing how to fab a bracket and build a tool box of good Wood. thanks ;/Josh

If you look at my post about relocating the ft lic plate, You will see the bracket that I made. Instead of the round bar that goes across you could use flat stock to go down and across to hold a box

If you look at the picture you should be able to manufacture the mount. You would then be able to build any tool box you want to put on top of that.

I just used some 2" X 1/4" strap iron bolted to the bumper brackets.

Here is a bracket I made and used a 18" craftsman tool box, it just lifts off to get to the crank hole. Used grade 8 bolts into the apron mount bolts with bushings and fender washers.

Josh,
Great idea! Do you have a picture of the other side of the bracket? How did you attach the bracket to the tool box? Thanks, Ray

Hi Ray, I took one of the brackets off and scanned it next to a ruler for scale purposes, great result, just havent quite figured out how to get it to the computer. My better half said she would handle that for me Tuesday from where she works. As far as how it is attached, just 1/4" bolts to the tool box with flat washers as spacers to allow clearance for the bolt heads coming from the apron mounts. As soon as I can i,ll get that picture posted. Clyde

Ray, finally figured this scanning thing out heres the scan, hope this will help. brackets are crude but functional, made with hand drill, hack saw and file in about 1/2 hour, drilled and cut as a stack of 2 so they matched. Best of luck, Clyde
