Please drive slow on that road. Straight as an arrow for 62 miles and one thinks he can step on it. Remember, tires on American rental cars are not all that good, hold it down to 75, 80 tops. Take lots of water in a cooler, available at Smiths on the west end of Wendover. Cover your head, use SPF 45 or 50 sunscreen, put it on every two hours. Also, the salt sun reflects up. Up your nose, up your pants, in the folds of your ears. Dont try to drive into the pits the first three days, after the crowd leaves, you may be able to. Wear shoes so you can walk a mile or two. You can drive to the start line, the fuel trailer to see the weather station and buy Tee shirts, the SCTA trailer, park on the west side of the pit to walk through, and the spectator area is on the north side of the pits. Have fun, be safe. I'll be with you in spirit.
