Did you check for accommodations in Tooele or Salt Lake City, Utah? They are about 1.5 hrs east of Bonneville.

David no not at this stage , preffer to be local if we can . Its early days yet & someone may cancel out,, Thanks

Salt Lake is a long drive from Bonneville when you are racing. Derek, try looking on the Landracing Forum. People post on there a lot when they can not make it and have rooms to give up. Good luck this year. I am still going to try and make it even though I wont be on a team this year. Mark. http://www.landracing.com/forum/

I have heard you can camp right near the site in a winnebago.

That would suit me far better when I go than a flea trap motel .

Watch the movie 'The World's Fastest Indian' it involves an Australian main character and Bonneville. VERY good film you'll like it. True story makes it even better.

John , sounds good , Cyril Leon built the cpe . In sfo 31st , sac swap 1st -----reno--wells 6th be there on 7th ,4 nights so far then head south. Counting down, will talk with Ron,

Umm, Burt Munro was a KIWI.

  1. Burt Munro
  2. Herbert James "Burt" Munro was a New Zealand motorcycle racer, famous for setting an under-1,000 cc world record, at Bonneville, 26 August 1967. This record still stands today. Wikipedia
  3. Born: March 25, 1899, Edendale, New Zealand
  4. Died: January 6, 1978, Invercargill, New Zealand

Whoops well I was kinda close. Thought the movie mentioned him to be Australian I'll blame that slip up on Hollywood!

I bet Hollywood nicked him Burt too.

Burt is the yank spelling , and Bert is the OZ/Kiwi spelling as it is short for Herbert .

I could be wrong, but his short name does look 'Americanized ' .

Jeeze maybe we should have a Ford Barn get together one night for a meal & lie & Bragg. Any starters ???? We could just name a restraunt & a time , Sounds good to me. Nice sunny late Autum day in NZ
