After a rebuild,I installed the oil pan. Then today I was going to do the flywheel & clutch. It does'nt work that way. flywheel then the pan.
Now I need another pan gasket set. Called NAPA, he said he could get one, if I had a Fel-Pro#
Anyone know the Fel-Pro part # for the oil pan gasket set on a 59a block?

Thought I had ya there, went down to the barn, but its not listed part number wise on the list, the whole set is FS 7548 B if they can break it down from there, if was closer I'd give ya the gaskets out of the set I got, didn't need um on mine.

Call Joblot in NY. 1-800-221-0172. They have them and are reasonable. They ship usually the same day.
Don;t beat yourself up on this little oversight. Like ken, I too have done this. It only takes once :)

Thanks everyone for your replies. I was trying to find one local, to avoid high shipping cost. Looks like I'll put another order into Mac's and wait and wait.
Oh did I said wait for delivery.
Thanks again and I will remember- Flywheel BEFORE pan the next time.

You have received some good sources. Why go back to Mac's? They have gone big time corporate. How did your pan gasket get ruined?
John

John, yes you are correct, I have received some good sources. And yes I know that Mac's has went corporate.
My local NAPA, "Corporate", could get Felpro. If I could supply apart #. Which I can't.
My local Auto Zone "Corporate" stated that the Victor #OS31242 is no longer adviailibe.
Rock Auto & Joblot wants about $17+ shipping for a $12 gasket set.
A place on E-bay that has a Best set wants $20 plus $10 shipping.
If you know of a better place to get a pan gasket, please let me know. And if you'd read my OP you'd know how.
Thanks

Best are good gaskets & seals but you may note the seals are different. I'd use them anyway, even if they are different. Ya got to do what you have to these days.

Even if you used gasket glue, with carefull removal it should be OK.If gasket breaks, its no big deal as you just add a bit of sealer at the breaks.

I dont have a 59ab block but can you explain the reason for the pan after the clutch/flywheel install? Thanks

pan and bellhousing surround the flywheel and you can't remove the flywheel without removing the oil pan....and vice versa....Mike
