bond windshield rubber on a chopped top

I chopped the top of my 46 Mercury 3 inches. I have a repo winshield rubber from Bob Drake and need to make it smaller by cutting a piece out and then bonding the ends back together. What is the best method to do this so the bond looks good and is strong. I do not think regular trim adhesive will work. Can anyone give me some ideas and where to buy the bonding agent. Thanks, Bill Large; Michigan

I used Super Glue to bond the edges of the seal around my '33 Willys windshield years ago and it's still holding.

Yes, a good brand of super glue will do the job. I just did this and had to to really pull on the rubber to get it over the glass--no problem it held and you can't see the seam.
