On ebay #200511530513 is advertised as a "B" pump. It is NOT a B pump. Top 1/2 is a later addition. This is not a "B" pump. Beware of its purchase as one. FYI ken ct.:mad:

It is amazing what gets posted on ebay. Last week someone had a V12 manifold listed as a V8 manifold, a Stromberg 48 listed as a 97 (the guy even said it has no number, just a 1/1/32 which makes it a 97)???? Really???, and my favorite, the fellow listing a "back draft" Mercury carb as a Lincoln V12. I tried to help him, but he stubbornly clung to stupid, as did the guy with the 48 that is really a 97. In his defense, it did have a 97 throttle lever and top.

I do realize some folks have no idea what they have, heck on some days I don't even know where I'm at?? But, a Stromberg 97, come on, there are numerous 97s posted, and most have a close up of the 97 script. It wouldn't take much to see if that is what you have in your hand.

52 henry,i bought 6 supposedly 97-48's from a guy off the old barn yrs ago and when the box came in they were ALL 94's. Guys excuse ,well my son picked them out not me. Then the guy disappered.Crawled into a hole i guess. Got skunked on that one.Live and learn. ken ct.

There is a common aftermarket B pump that I think must have been mass produced at one time for the replacement market...it is easily distinguished from the OEM ones by the upper body, which is round with 1/8" pipe holes containing brass fittings to adapt to Ford nut.
From looking around at Hershey, my flying guess is that these are based on circa 1941 Plymouth castings and a B lever arm.
