I,m preparing to start assembling my wood structure and would like to duplicate a particular pair of clamps. What I am referring to is the special "L " shaped bolt used to pull and hold the top roof rail down on top of hinge pillars. During a roof repair at some time, the top of this fastener was sawed off so I do not know what it looks like. I have salvaged the "L" bolt (without the head) and spanner nut and wish to fabricate new ones like Mr. Ford installed. Any information on this piece would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a bunch...

From which direction is the nut portion accessd from? My tudor sedan has one a pilar top to roof loose and was unsure what to look for until I just saw your post. Thanks,Aaron

The spanner nut is on the cabin side of the hinge pillar about 21/2" down from the roof joint. I think it is covered by upolstery. The nut is a flat disc about 3/4" diameter and has a slot across the full width. It appears that a special split screw driver was used to tighten it.

Good luck...
