body swap

So, I have a mut of a truck, a early 31 cowl, and a late 31 steel top that is rough but complete. I gifted by being both young and a pastor so the income is limited as far as my "fun" money is. The question I have is this, do I build a huckster out of the cowl for now so that I have a nice body for a few years while I save up to build the cab properly or do I give it a go in a patch job method. I am fixing up chassis work and once I finish the spindle I'm solid to drive again. What do you think? Ideas? Thanks.

Step back and realistically look at the amount of work involved in either choice compared to what you really want to end up with. How long will it take you to build a huckster, a week, a month, 6 months or more? Then do the work again on the original cab. Write down the pros & cons of each then study on it. Could be fun both ways.

eric, IMHO which do you want? A ccpu or a huckster [woody etc.] that should be the determining factor, of course money is always a deterant but having less money comming in just means more time in achieving our goals....ie:time=money... The huckster will alow you to have more seat room and inclosed cargo area if that is a factor but I would think a huckster body would be much more money than fixing up an orginal cab.. Ray is right in take a look at both pros and cons and after you choose do one than later do the other, you can never have enough A's... bobbycoke
