Hi folks
New to this forum
I started a 1930 Model A pickup restoration last year.
For those that are interested my website dedicated to this is http://teddyk1.wix.com/verlans-model-a

We are at the point this week of getting ready for installing the body.
Is there from your experience a step by step procedure/order that I should follow?
By that I mean;
apron + front fender+ running boards, etc
thank you in advance

No advise on procedure, as I am still in the chassis stage of my restoration.
But if your web site is any indication as to your abilities and dedication. I am sure your truck is going to be outstanding!
Great job.

Thanks for your comments so far
Gathering from several posts I believe I am to start with installing the front fender/apron/running boards together as a set. This is how it was done at the factory and judging from several postings I need to do it this way to keep the alignment together for the cab.
This makes sense. of course not sure if it works as planned till I get to it.

would anyone disagree with this order and thought?

thanks Lance. We have family and close friends all over the country. This is a good way to keep in touch with them and to keep the family involved with the project. So far the grandkids are really excited being a part of it

OK: Here we go:
1: Install the Rad and make sure the "Frame is square and level.
2: Mount the splash aprons and front fenders. Since the body has to go over the rear section of the fenders.
3: Mount he body but keep everything loose.
4: Mount the Hood. Make sure you have the welting on the rad and the cowl.
5: Now close the hood and see how everything lines up.
6: If the gaps are out now you have to shim the cowl of the body to lift it to get alignment. If the gaps is wide at the bottom of the hood to the base of the cowl panel. If it's tight at the bottom then you have to lift the rad. to get the gaps even.
7: This takes some time going back and forth until you get a nice fit.
8: Shim the rear of the cab if needed to level things up between the cab and the apron.
9: Now you can fit up the box and the rear fenders.

This is a short version but should give you the idea.

Everything is loose right now . We are waiting for doors then we will check all gaps and start the painful process of squaring everything
thanks for the tip
