Bob Drake's Waffle Pattern Insulation

I used Bob Drake's waffle pattern insulation to line the trunk lid of my 48 Ford convertible and after a year the layers of the insulation are delaminating. It appears to have a plastic layer between two layers of the oil treated fiber matting. The response from Drake's customer service department was that they had never heard of this happening.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Happened to me, too. I reglued the layers together with Liquid Nails Small Projects adhesive. (Maybe it's the SC climate) ;)

It's always the same story. "I'm surprised to hear that your the first to have this problem, are you sure that you installed it correctly" It never changes......

You would think, that being first in anything, you should get a prize or some kind of reward............. maybe a new product to replace" the first defective one."

Being the cheap guy I am some times, I didn't want to pay $100 for the waffle material so I inverted a peice of in-door out-door carpet on my deck lid. Had it laying around as I used the same for carpets in my A. Zeke
