The standard rebuild kits are pretty basic. They come with the shaft & double row bearing assembly, an impeller, a water seal, a slinger ring, and a gasket. If anyone makes stainless steel stuff, I'm not aware of it. Skip Haney has his own design impeller but I think he does the rebuilds himself rather than selling a kit. I've repaired a few housing castings around the water inlet port by just brazzing them up with an oxy/acetylene torch to fill the pitting back in then sand them back to profile with a hand held air powered belt sander. A file will do the job but a die grinder or belt sander is faster as long as the port is fairly close to it's original profile when your done. The hose & clamp will do the rest.
A press in a must and I've made a few tools to aid in pushing parts in and out correctly. A person can use bolts & nuts with lengths to suit to place the housing in a level position for pressing. Always remeber the snap ring on the inside of the bearing bore under the pulley. There is another one down a ways into the bore to locate the bearing properly in the bore too but it is no problem as long as you press the assembly out from the impeller end. If you can't get to the snap ring you have to have a puller that you can use to remove the pulley sheave first. They are usually cast iron and they break easily. Getting the slinger ring in the correct location on the shaft is the most important thing for these pumps in order for the seal to install correctly and get the overall functionality correct. Take note of the original slinger location before you take the core pump appart. It's a good idea to make a gauge or a pressing tool that will stop at the correct loction on the shaft. there are variations of different slinger rings that can make this task a *****.
Skip Haney will rebuild them for you if you don't have all the stuff required to do it yourself.
