The China doors seem to fit OK but windows is a different story. Windows bind terrible going up and down...I even used original regulators. I adjusted the regulators and still bind. I have original doors that came off and 4 door parts car. I may have to use them after doing some modifications. I had the old lady turn the handle while if used both hands and still bind. I used windows from the 4 door and still the same. Really sucks....

FIRST--You should be able to slide the windows up and down without hooking up any regulators.
If they bind without the regulator hooked up then it's either the glass is too big or the tracks need attention.

I was going to suggest checking the thickness of the glass also . Check the channel of the import . It's probably something simple .

Since you are in South Carolina, maybe you should go talk to the Dennis Carpenter people if the problem is the doors and not the glass or the thickness of the felt channels. He now owns the whole 40 coupe project and parts production. I would check the window channel felt. If it is the glass doesn't fit because it is too wide you could have the glass trimmed. Make sure the metal channel on the bottom is in the correct location and the correct side. Where the regulator mates with the metal channel it is beveled on one side so there is a right and left side to the windows once the metal channel is on. As stated above without the regulator the glass should move up and down without a lot of force.
Good luck and let us know what you find.
