Block sealer

Head gasket weeping in many cases is a sign of an improperly torqued head. It is good preventative maintenance to occasionally retorque the head. It will minimize internal and external leaking of the head gasket. Putting yuck pucky on things doesn't always solve problems. I have used Barrs Leak which has a silica aditive on a new engine rebuild. This was done to fill or bridge any small casting cracks or gaps. This sealer cannot be used with antifeeze. A water soluble additive like pump lube must be added to the coolant then after several hours of engine time the coolant needs to be dumped and replaced with regular antifreeze.
The rule of thumb for PM on a Model A engine is occasionally retorque the head especially on a new rebuild or head gasket replacement.
