Will a 53 truck block fit in a 33? Just in case I need an engine.
Overheated on the way back from a car show after I lost the fan belt. Head gasket was toast at the center water port.

you could dress up the 8ba with 59a heads and ignition and no one will know the difference
 
Further to the above you would need 59A type cam and 59a type water pumps but the modern replacements with ball bearings. You'd also need a truck half bell and starter plate and some adaptors to attach anti chatter rods. There might be oil pan clearance issues but that might be on the later cross steer cars. There is a hole in the head surface that needs to be plugged. It is all do-able and has been dome loads of times before, but lots of things need to be taken into consideration.
I did a similar job creating a 59a clone from a French motor.
