Blitz Truck

[Ab4875]

At a truck wreckers.

Yep, she's an old Ford Blitz. Not much left of her. They were the main trucks used by the Allies in WW2. Made in Canada [by Ford and GM] for the Commonwealth forces. Blitz is the Oz name. Also called CMP's [Can Military Pattern]. Another nickname is "Monkeyface."
Oh, and Chev Blitzes had Chev 6s in them.

Pardon my ignorance... Is that a hydraulic ram, and for what? Not original?

The owner wasn't there so I didn't get much information. His offsider did say it was an International chassis so it may be a mix of different trucks. I'm not sure what the ram was for. I have an engine with the remains of this accelerator setup, interesting to see it in a truck.

That ram and the sub frame on the main frame suggests a dump body was on it.
