When installing a new master cylinder on a 68 Mustang is it necessary to bleed the master cylinder-----if so what is the procedure----thanks a lot

Master cylinder should bleed on the bench before installing

and then again once installed, have a friend pump the brake pedal about 3 times and hold it, then you crack the line at the master cylinder, dont let your buddy release the brake pedal till you have tightened the brake line. do that a couple of times or untill there is no air coming out, just brake fluid

Dual master should always be bled on the bench. Not so critical with a single bowl one.
