Will a standard gasket set handle a 3 5/16" bore or will I need a big bore set , using stock heads? Thanks Zeke

You will most likely need the big bore one.
By laying the gasket on the block you can see where the fire ring sits.
If it is in the right place and doesn't hang over the bore, the standard one will be ok.

Best Company standard gaskets have a max bore of 3.290" in Graph Tite (Part # 521G) or Copper (Part # 521C). Their Big Bore gaskets have a max bore of 3.440" on the Graph Tite (Part # 536G) and 3.430" on the copper (Part # 536C). In general any bore exceeding 0.125" over the standard 3-3/16" bore require Big Bore gaskets be used.

Hope this helps,

Jim

Std. gaskets will just about cover .080 overbore. 3-5/16=.125 over. Must use big bore gaskets. Walt

I found the same thing. My block is 3 5/16 bore and the standard gasket was too small. Others have said that it will work but I am going with a large bore gasket.
