Big 3 Swap Meet

It has been great so far...lots of parts, some really good deals & incredible weather. Strong possibility of rain tomorrow,so I will be doin "honey do" projects. Great to see the folks we only see once a year again & a bunch of new friends.

Just wanted to add some photos for those that couldn't be there!

I went on Friday. I was there at noon and walked fairly quick as I wanted to be able to leave by 2:30pm. The traffic back to Riverside on a Friday can be Bad. I did not finish as it was bigger than I thought it would be (First time there).
I did find a few things I needed at Great Prices.
An Original 1928-1929 Jack, very clean, working condition $20.00.
Ebay just sold one for $338, I was the first bidder at $20.00 then it went nuts!
I bought a nice clean used Tillotson carb for $20.00.
I bought a New Model A Heater with all the hardware and inside vent for $20.00.
(I think Snyder's sell these for $79.00)
3 Original Distributors at $5.00 each. The seller had 10 or more.
2 used Brake shoes for $1.00 each. I'm setting up my Ammco Brake Shoe Arcing machine and did not have any shoes short of removing mine from my A.
I did see 2 Tire Pumps $30.00 each but I didn't know if they were repo's or not. They were freshy painted gloss black. I passed on getting one.
All in all I thought this swapmeet looked just like the Pomona Swapmeet.
I was thinking it was just for early Vintage Car parts. I saw a lot of newer '70's and 80's parts. Many sign, antique Furniture, T-Shirts and Hat dealers.
I would go again just because you just don't know what will be there, but Honestly Model A stuff was a Very Small Percentage of the Parts being sold.

Here you go Derek - Brian just sent me this. He hasn't bought it. Yet.

Dear Old Dad (John Charlton) has bought the remains of a lightly rodded 31 pickup with a good Cali title and a Budd cab. He has bought me a pair of 16" wires that are Ford bp but are 5" wide. Might be Lincoln (thank you Mr Wells). Other bits and pieces, all at keen prices. Nearly makes up for not being there:(

I new there would be bargins if Andrew & I were not there, We had our 1st swap meet here run by local vcc, went very good , some 70 sites, bought nothing ,but sold a bit, so not a total loss, Autum coming, back to asalt engine, Thanks for pictures,

I only attended Friday Noon to 5 PM.

Juggler, I touched base with "dear old dad" in bright and sunny San Diego. I haven't done for a year or so. Almost missed him without the beard. He is 3 years younger than me. I'll never hear the end of it:D.

I must have talked to 50 old friends and came home with nothing but sore feet and hips. I wouldn't miss it for anything. The storm of the century arrived here in Anaheim today, only 80 miles from San Diego, as a drizzling mist. So much for forecasts.

I missed you and Derek, didn't get enough time with Glenn in Camino.

Until next year,

Richard
Anaheim CA

Pleased to hear you met up Richard. That beard was older than I am, and a much missed part of the family. He's still surprised that no one recognizes him anymore.

I missed meeting up with Vern and Ron and paying my Victoria Association and FAST dues, and forgot to remind Dad to do it for me. Will have to sort that from distance.

Until next year like you say

All the best

Andrew
