I have some Lincoln parts on the internet for sale and have had a couple of responses. The first was poorly written with bad grammer and mispelled words and offered me the opertunity of a life time to accept a money order from an associate for $2500 if I would write a check for $2200 for the excess that I needed. The second request to purchase came from someone else(?) who wanted to transfer cash to my credit card to cover the purchase. It seemed too involved and I did not understand why he would not send a check or money order. I believe he just wanted access to my credit card to put an excess charge on it and wipe out my account.

Don't get greedy and accept strange offers of payment. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Thanks Bill,
When I was looking to buy parts, I was contacted from England
and Germany with offers to sell me parts. Of course they couldn't provide
pics or anything I requested. Lot of scammers out there.

So right you are.

thats a typical scam and steer clear. best not to reply at all because they are also phishing or looking to steal your online info and address, phone ect ect.

common sense will protect you from most scams. if its too good to be true, beware. as far as being protected by ebay thats a joke. the high fee's they charge dont protect you, it protects them.the fact they own paypal and force you to use the service sucks but its their sandbox and their rules
