BEWARE: John Tumolo scam

Well-known member
I got an email this morning from John asking for $1650 to be sent to him in the Philippines because of blah blah blah. John is a member here and I'm sure his email has been hacked for this scam. Be careful about emails from people who represent themselves as being from The Barn.

I have written John an email warning him about this.

As an addendum to this, if you ever get a request for money from me, you can be sure I didn't send it, and I would appreciate you notifying me of the phony request via this site only.

Thanks for the heads-up. This is an old scam that is still working its way around. Watch out for this scam coming from anywhere.

Yeah, I know. It's so old I'm surprised these crooks are still trying it. But PT Barnum was right: "There's a sucker born every minute." And I guess the scam still works on those who are unaware, naive, or foolish enough to believe it.

If anyone receives a request from me, it's completely legit. I'm accepting all offers. Please send to Florida though...

theres another scam thats suckering a LOT of people in
it locks your computer up and gives you a black screen with an official looking page from the department of justice
it claims they have caught you looking at or distributing child ***********
and this first time they are going to fine you $300
if you have a web cam pn your computer it will even print a photo of you "looking" at ***********
but you must pay with "pay Pak" and you can get them from walmart,Kmart etc
if you dont pay within 48 hrs they will wipe your computer clean and come out and arrest you
caught a second time you will go to jail and be branded a pervert
knowing i did nothing of the sort ,i went to google and typed in
paypak DOJ and all sorts of help appeared showing how to get rid of this scam
also dont up load any email offering to upgrade java script(it should automatically upgrade)

Last year our local V8 club president was detained in London and need money, a week later another friend was stranded in another forein county, needed money sent right now. Its an old scan just ignore them, we just didnt fall out of the tree.

We were at our regular Monday morning coffee when I got an email from the guy next to me saying he was stuck in London and needed $2000.00 to get home. He had gotten a fake email from ATT asking him to confirm his password. Well I had to follow him home and help him get it straightened out. It's almost as old as the gold mine in Nigeria.

A few years ago my mother (age 85) received a call from someone who identified themself as my 31 year old son. The individual explained to his grandmother that he was in Montreal and that he had lost his wallet and required some quick cash to get home to Ottawa and that Dad (me) was unavailable. My mother asked how the girls (great grandkids) were doing and the caller said "just fine" Mom hung up the phone.. my son has two boys:).

I got the fake FBI scam last week asking for $200. from Moneypac to unlock my computer as the FBI froze it for illegal downloads. I just opened my computer in safe mode and used my recover program to go back a week and it unfroze it. My Nortons never picked it up and it actually disabled Norton. It is nasty. Why can't people just get a job and earn their

/

I heard from John this morning as well.....

I was thinking-what the heck is he doing down in the Phillipines....?!

Must be digging up some nice A's!

Well I am stranded in California. Sooooo you all know the drill send lots and lots of money. By the way no rubber checks allowed. :) :) I wonder if these scum bags ever get a taste of their own medicine. I would be worth millions of dollars if I answered all the email scams saying I have won money. Oh! And thanks for the heads up on the F.B.I.scam. Have not seen that one yet.

another version of the FBI scam is that all of a sudden you will get a **** site locked on your screen. It can appear even if you have never visited a **** site and they ask for money to unlock your screen. I was told that you can catch these even from viewing you tube. My friends email account got hacked last night and everyone on his address book started getting spam from him that looked like legit email. Happened to me a last year. It's best to change passwords on E-mail accounts every month or so.

You need to be aware of another scam going down near the fringes of Walmart parking lots as of late.
Typical reports say......A pair of fetching young ladies will approach your vehicle and suddenly jump inside saying they're "locked out & waiting for keys to arrive". Next thing they strip down and begin fondling each other...and soon turn there attention upon the driver.
Reportedly while the first lass holds your attention (see paragraph 1) :p ....the second little tramp steals your wallet.
Just saying cuz I lost my wallet today, then again Monday & twice Sunday...

I was contacted a couple of years ago. Some body in London needing money.

I e-mailed back that the check was already in the mail.
