better late than never

IN northeastern Illinois, IMAD Saturday dawned with heavily overcast skies. The forecast was for scattered showers, but leaving breakfast an ominous line across the sky indicated that the weatherman was wrong! The first ten miles of the drive were in monsoon conditions -- providing an excellent proof of the best car polish job -- and eliminating any question of engine overheating! And all the cars' windshield wipers were put to the test. (When driving a Model A Ford it is easy to find the silver lining!)
Three MARC Regional Clubs eventually met for the IMAD photo op along the banks of the Illinois River at Ottawa, IL. Fox Valley Region, Joliet Region, and Starved Rock Region tourers each drove at least 130 miles, with distance awards to the folks living closest to Chicago, who added 25 more.
