Best place to install fuse

I couldn't figure how to include my pic of my installation, but I went ahead and installed the inline blade type mini fuse (25 amp) that is a rubberize setup with a "waterproof" cap on it. Simple and easy to get to. Next is a good battery cutout.
Thanks for all the advice and photos.

Figured out (I think) how to add a pic. Here's my setup.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I felt this was the best place to post this question. Does anyone know what gauge the wire running from the junction box to the generator cut-out is?

Today I purchased a "heavy duty" inline fuse holder with #12 wires. I also bought a pack of 30 amp. fuses. Where would be the best place to wire it in?

Thanks Guys,
Pete

I am thinking of Purchasing this one from Mac's, what's your opinion of it ??

Just my opinion, but to me, it sure is an ugly pile of non-era stuff: Phillips screw, black plastic frame, red plastic wire, 1/4 quick-connect, clear vinyl sleeve, shrink tubing. That's six items that do not appear "era" to my eye. I like the other one. Again, you asked for an opinion! For the record, I don't think that red wire is cross-linked polymer, which is the only plastic wire insulation suitable for under-hood use. It looks like the cheap easily melted plastic junk sold in auto parts stores. That clear vinyl shrink sleeve isn't worth a darn, either. Any insulation that melts if you hold a soldering iron to it is unsuitable for automotive use. If you hold a soldering iron to it and it turns brown, smokes, but remains in place, like cross-link wire, that's good.

MikeK: when I was using that style fuse ( before the large nuts "separated" from the fuse link) I was able to cover the piece of red wire with a piece of fabric loom so it didn't look too out of place.
