best overdrive for the $$

Good arguments can be made for both the Mitchell and the Laycock overdrives. I have a Laycock that I am very happy with. I really like having the shifter in the form of a push/pull switch under the gearshift knob as opposed to a cable or another stick coming through the floor board. I have a coupe and there is not much room inside with two adults in the car. The Laycock shifts just like an automatic ******. I got mine from Rich Little mrovrdv@earthlink.net. He did a spot on job in building the unit.

I love my Mitchell, drive line is smoother even in low gear, I would guess it is better balanced than the original drive shaft.

I put a Mitchell overdrive in my 29 Tudor. I had the option of 20% or 30% and chose 30%. If I had it to do over, I would go with the 20%.

We reviewed the various options and agree with the Mitchell choice. We have it in the sedan and find it a great asset when climbing hills, as well as just touring on flat ground.
