Best hood prop?

Jim, Did you know Chief? (My Dad) He made a "stick" to hold the trans in high gear for a round trip on Route 66 in a ragged old '35 International Pickup. The "stick" was also used to hold up the hood. I don't remember if the gas guage worked or not. Bill W.

Now that's a multi use tool!!:)!!:)

I use a Harbor Freight magnet, #67156, in the channel at the rear of the hood, against one of the bolt heads. I wrap it in rubber tape to protect the edges of the hood.

Paul

I like this one, wonder if he could pass along where he found the materials to make these?
Thanks
Here are photos of the clips deigned by a fellow club member Mike Thoe. We call them Thoe clips (aka Hood clips).

Unfortunately they work only on the 1930 - 1931 model A's.

In the first photo the stop is an el shaped rod and has a small plastic sleeve on it swedged on the other end and held on to the firewall with a small clip. The stop folds down against the top of the firewall so you can close the hood.

The second photo shows the hood resting against the stop.

Simple and effective, I'll be copying this idea for Dad's Coupe.

beware when propping a hood like that on the cowl that it will scratch the hood..
as shown in the snyders kit it comes with some tubing to put on the hood to prevent that
