"BEST" copper head gasket

Does the roll go towards the head or the block, are does it matter. Stamped name up or down on block?

The rolled portion of the gasket goes up, and should touch the head. In reality, it doesn't matter, and neither is right or wrong. The roll can wear into the surface it touches as the head and block shift, and it's easier to surface the head to remove the impression, than the block.

I have had the best luck with the graphite gasket from Best and copper spray gasket cement.
