Bendix replacement advice?

Having gone down a blind alley with the so-called modern Bendix (see thread), I am going back to the original design, but prefer a replacement since the original is not in very good shape.

Mac's offers a replacement for the original Bendix. Catalog says US made.

"This unit is slightly different than the original; however, testing has shown this design works as well as the original, if not better."

Has anyone had experience with this particular unit?

You will be fine with that choice. It is a newer design, in the '50s. I think you are making a wise choice.
