Below trunklid panel fabrication

Well after debating buying two repops I decided against it after seeing one seller listing them as 9 1/2 inch high and measuring the stock one which is 9 5/16. Got lucky and found a huge piece of 18 gauge tin in the dump, so I made two of them, big job: getting the old ones out, fabbing and installing the new ones. I made 1/8 plate backers for the sides using the curved piece from the old ones as a pattern, There is a compound curve in these, used a 2x4 and a bottle jack to put the curve in it worked great. Sure is nice to own a 10 ft. Industrial brake.

the original rear panels are 1/4" taller in the center than on the ends. and I have NEVER seen a reproduction panel that is made correct.
