Bearing sizes

One of my club members is doing an article for our newsletter regarding the differences between Model A and Model B engines.

I understand the B had larger main and rod journals on the crankshaft (??). Can anyone supply the Model A vs. Model B journal sizes (dia. x length)? Info regarding the Model T and 1932 V-8 journal sizes would also be helpful.

I recall the first B engines did not have counterweights (??). When did they add the counterweights to the 4-cyl. engine?

Thanks.

I once read here that the first counterweighted cranks were installed in engines during November of 1932.

The A mains were 1 5/8", B mains 1.999" A rods 1.500" B rods 1.875 (1 7/8") The Counterweighted crank (often called the C crank) came out in late '32, could be November? The so-called BB crank was the early crank that had been rebuilt by an authorized Ford rebuilder. They pressed on and pinned in place a thick weight. A Texas rebuilder once told me that he had never seen a cracked BB crank. They became called BB cranks because truck engines were the most commonly ones rebuilt, and received these cranks.
