BB water problem

I've got a 32 BB in the shop that after running for a bit usually driving that blows water out of the radiator, I disconnected the hoses and ran a garden hose in the rad and I get water in water out almost instant, the same on the block, I flushed it from the head and the incoming water side no rust junk or particles from either just some quick discoloration, it doesn't miss like a blown head gasket nor is there water in the oil, is there a chance of a cracked head that when it heats up does this or am i missing something,

Thanks Aaron

B motors are notorious for cracking in the deck. I suspect such a crack is causing your trouble or maybe a head gasket. Do you smell exhaust gasses in the radiator or see bubbles?

I had this happen due to several small holes in the #3 cylinder exhaust valve pocket of a Model B engine. The water foaming out of the radiator had a
strong exhaust smell and I later found out why. I still have the block and wonder if there might be a fix for such a problem.

I'm thinking of putting the hoses back on and running it to test for exhast gas in the radiator, but it does push water out.
Its a 4 cylinder, and the cap does not fit tight at all it pretty loose, I'm heating and soaking the brass screw to see if I can get it off to put another gasket on the cap.
It doesn't miss like a blown head gasket, it starts and runs fine,I'm wondering if it could be a split cylinder wall and opens up when hot and under pressure.

Do a leak down test. A compression test wouldn’t hurt either.

Yup - put your hoses back on fill it up and do the leak down test. Anything else you do is guessing in the dark. This test tells you everything you need to know about the internals of your engine and their sealing abilities.

Sometimes a blown headgasket or crack can let the combustion pressure out but not let water in (cools down seals up - gets hot opens up)

Blowing water out the radiator could be a simple as you are over filling it, ie filling all the way to the top. The water level should just be about an 1"+ over the head plate. As it warms up it will push water out the over flow and find it's happy level.

I run V8 pumps, when one went bad I replaced it with a brand-new one. The new one had 4 vanes on the impeller, the old one 3. The new one pumped more than the rad could handle, and pumped water out the overflow when driving. My solution was to pressurize the system.

This is what mine is doing right now. Albeit I had to have the rad neck replaced as well. But I have a crack I think in the #4 ex. which lets hot gases into the rad system while letting water out-sucks. But once I got a new neck on the rad. she stopped blowing water out of the cap area.
