Bb truck

Hello all. I’ve asked several questions about redoing the brakes on my 34 bb truck. I’ve had good info from the barn. It’s going back together and I’d like to know how how much pressure to seat the inner bearing and then how far to back it off and how much pressure to seat the outer bearing. This has been a chore and I learned a bunch.

This is from the Ford Shop Manual.

1. Tighten rear hub bearing nut until bearings bind when wheel is turned.
2. Loosen bearing 1/8 of a turn.
3. Install rear wheel bearing lock nut washer. ( Turn nut slightly either on or off until locking pin on nut engages in rear wheel bearing lock washer.)
4. Replace outer bearing nut. Draw up firmly.

Bob C - Can you share the reference to the Ford Shop Manual? Is this from some Service Bulletins or is it an actual book? I'm always looking for good reference materials. Thanks.

This is one of the manuals I have. Got it from Rock Auto, DETROIT IRON DPRF0339SM.

Thanks for the info. I never would have thought that this book has info on BB truck rear axles.
