Battery Identification Needed

I was wondering if anyone here could identify this Ford battery. We've had it around the shop for so long that I can't remember where it even came from, but it doesn't look like the photos I've seen of original Model A batteries. Any ideas?

Super nice Model T battery! That is the first of the molded rubber cases. Look on the underside for a manufacturing date. Let me know if you want to peddle it.

I'll look tomorrow for a date, and thanks for the replies. To be honest, that $10 price tag is probably in 1960's dollars because its been office decoration for a long time. I'd bet that Dad picked it up at Hershey in the ate sixties or early seventies. Were the earlier "T" batteries wooden, because there's one of those floating around the shop somewhere as well.

Yes, the first Model T batteries were made with a wood case and glass jars for the cells. A Ford script was engraved on one side along with a letter representing the manufacturer. Steel lifting handles were on each end like your battery. The next generation had lifting handles that were integral with the rubber case - otherwise they were the same as yours.

I have some of those tops with caps, but I never saw a case like that.
