Mike I got this from a friend who was going to use it in his Ford PU but he went to a 12 Volt system. It is still in the box with adapter and all instructions and Came from the Antique Auto Battery Mfg Co. I have no reason to believe that he give me incorrect informaiton. I do remember that they use to used to up the amps on the regulators to help to get juice to the starters on 6 volt systems and that they had 6-8 volt setups for that very reason. that's all I can share oon this. Tom
