Hello Everyone,

My friends & many of my customers here on the forum know of our battle with my Wife's stage 4 breast cancer that had metastasized to her back, subsequent spine surgery, months of wheelchair time, then walker, cane & rehab. After a year & a half she is back to driving & walking very well & we are WINNING the battle as the original tumor has been shrinking as shown on each 3 month scan! She loves our hobby, the cruises & shows, so I figured this was the year I get her one of her own! The 57 T-Bird was one of the two she liked the best, the other is a late 50's Desoto Conv in red of course, but that is a little big for her.

I had been hiding this car in my enclosed trailer since just after Thanksgiving & could not wait until Christmas, so I could give it to her! She stays at our "in town" house as she can't drive the long distance from this house to work each day ( I drive back & forth the 100 mile round trip 3 or 4 times per week), so I had the car sitting in front of the house with a big bow on it before she woke up Christmas morning! Between the tears, smiles & laughter....I think she loves it! LOL She drove it around the neighborhood with the bow still on it honking & waving to neighbors like she was in a parade

57 T-Bird 312 4bbl auto. Power Steering, seats & windows. Aftermarket air & front disc brakes. It is a clean Texas car that had been in Ohio for the last two years. Of course since we live in Ohio, I will be storing it with mine until spring.

God Bless
Bill

Great news about your wife, and hope her health stays forever. Super story about her Christmas present too!

Huge Shout Out To @Sky Six Dan over on the HAMB!

He read this thread & took it upon himself to take the picture of Laura with her big smile when she got her Christmas present, blew it up, added text to it & sent it to me without asking for a penny!

I have always said....This hobby has the greatest folks in the world in it & this is just another fine example!

Thank You Dan!!!

God Bless

Cruising Season Update:

Laura named her car Priscilla after Priscilla Presley & we call it "Prissy":D

She Finally got to drive Prissy more than just around the block on Christmas Morning & we took it to a show on Fathers Day (actually TWO shows). Best thing was she picked the shows herself. The weather was spectacular, the morning show at the German Hall in Olmsted Falls Ohio started at 8:00AM till 2:00PM, unfortunately we got there at 8:40 & were number 318. Only the 1st 250 got dash plaques. I was hoping for her to get one as it was her 1st show with her own car. Things worked out great as the streets were empty that early on Sunday Morning so she could get used to driving a classic car without traffic. She did GREAT & by the time it was closing time of the 2nd show in Downtown Berea, Ohio I let her take it for a blast on the highway to go home....She wound it up to a little over 70MPH & had a big grin on her face.

I have been to probably more than 1000 shows/cruises over the decades & I don't know when I had more fun as I did yesterday riding "Wife" with her & when folks asked if it was my car, I smiled & said "Nope" it is hers!:D

God Bless
Bill

Yesterday was a GREAT day!

We took Laura's car as well as my G.P. to the New London American Legion Car Show. This one is only 3 miles from this house & I try to make this one, because a friend is instrumental in putting it together.

This required me to "Bust My ***" pretty much all day, because of Laura's driving limitations from the spine surgery, but it was completely worth it.

Laura won her 1st plaque for her car (top 10) & seeing her so excited/happy as well as having my elderly Parents come to the show & sit with us for a few hours just made my day!

The G.P. also took a top 10, while I was happy, it paled in comparison to watching Laura get hers.

God Bless

Another Amazing Week,

Loaded Laura, Gucci The Wonder Dog & her T-Bird Prissy up & went to her Daughter's house in Kodak, Tn on Labor Day for a visit & for her to see her newest Grandson for the 1st time. Spent 3 nights there & continued on to Lloydfest IV in Mt Sterling, Ky Thursday night thru Sunday night in the cabin.

I unloaded Prissy & removed the lid, so she could take her older Grandson & Daughter for a short putt around the neighborhood!

Then Prissy took Best Of Show at Lloydfest IV. An amazing surprise...It warms my heart to see Laura tear up & not be able to stop smiling after what she has gone through!

Simply Amazing time had by all! A great example of what our hobby is all about....Bringing Family & Friends together through a shared love of classic/hot rods.

Last picture is Gucci recovering in the cabin on the couch after a long day of getting petted & fed by all the great folks at Lloydfest IV:p. Greatest dog in the world, when we arrive I cut him loose & basically he spends the whole day wandering around to all the participants getting attention & goodies. He comes back from time to time to make sure his Mommy is safe, but loves all the attention!

God Bless
Bill
