Barrett-Jackson starts today

Will anyone else join in the Hagerty Fantasy bidding? Always fun trying to guess were the things well go.
 
If you watch it online from the Speed Channel website you don't have to deal with commercial breaks and you can pick from several different camera angles to view.

That being said I haven't watched any of it yet this year.
 
There is 7 model A's up for bid 640.1- 31AA Tanker,634.2-28 RPU,631.1-31CCPU,340-31AA Flatbed,411-31 Roadster,941-29 Snowbird,960-28 Roadster.,plus numerous hot rod's All nice tho.
 
As I watched, the anouncers said that over and over: "that's less than it costs to restore it!!!" Seemed like it was part of the anouncer's script. I think maybe BJ and speed is changing it's car listings a little bit, at least the ones they are putting on TV based on the state of the economy. Probably the average joe doesn't want to tune in to watch some fat cat spend 100k on a mustang when he himself is wondering if he will have have a job next week. Slim Fast for men wants to make sure the chubby average joes keep watching - or they will advertise someplace else.

I'm waiting for SNL to do a spoof on the whole thing, because it really is hypped up for TV. Much more than any other auction I've ever been to. That being said - I still watch, because it's about cars...
 
I used to watch it live, and then I realized how much time was fluff, commercials, and cars I wasn't interested in so I used the DVR and then would scan thorough it. Then it became a "Lifestyle Event" and they now offer their own line of car care products. Pass - its not even worth the electricity it takes to run the DVR anymore. I'll watch the Mecum coverage on Velocity instead (with the DVR of course)
 
@ barrett- jack the cars are overpriced but if you have the money and there's something you like why not pick it up...I saw one guy spend over $300,000 on a copo 69 camaro and the wheel wells had been repaired because it was a drag car @ one time,,,it didn't have the original motor in it!!
 
Jackson has done more to ruin the car hobby for the average person than anything!!! Every schmoe watchin that has a old car sees one sell for $100k and thinks his rust bucket is worth half that much......
