Hi Guys- New Barner, my story.

First time on the "Barn", just discovered it, cant wait to log on each day and read new posts. Fantastic. I have a thousand questions to ask !!! The info and knowledge from the collective out there is amazing.

Had my "Kiwi" 36 in storage, in my Barn, for 22 years in NZ , only ran it a few times over the years.

Have since shipped it to a new home in Australia, yes "another Kiwi in the land of Aus" It arrived on Friday, new battery, oil down the pots ,hand cranked for a while, and we had it running like dream on Sat. My favourite thing now is the act of going out to the garage, the sound the door handles make as you open the door and the inevitable solid clunk as the door shuts, the feeling of warmth, spaciousness and history, the starting procedure, 12 pumps, full choke and if all goes well, in that first turn it fires and the sound as it roars into life is like no other !!! Music to the ears!!!

Have attached a few photos of my renewed passion and cant wait to work on it, drive it and enjoy it !!!!

Left foot-right foot reminds me that when I was in England a while back, an Englishman asked me with astonishment, how do you Americans shift with your right hand? He couldn't understand how it was possible!

Very nice looking '36 fordor touring sedan!! The banjo steering wheel and light switch/horn rod is what we would have used in '37. Wondering if the steering gear box is also '37? Is that an ignition switch on the dash? Does this car still have the column drop with ignition switch and column lock? Can you post more pictures of different shots from the outside, the interior, and engine compartment? Have fun touring in Aus. Maybe you can meet up with some other Barners or folks from the early Ford V8 club and do some touring with them.

I will post some picks when i get home tonite, no the steering column switch and button must have been removed before i got it. There is a key start on the dash that runs through a battery isolating switch on the floor. Have couple of complete steering columns and box in storage so may change over at some stage. Interesting about the steering wheel though, how different was the 36 wheel ?

Where in Australia do you live.
I bought both my 33 and 34 from NZ.
I,m in central Qld.
Its a nice experience picking them up from the customs and quarantine yard,
Lawrie

Hi Lawrie

Gold Coast, yes finally getting your hands on the vehicle was good, got slammed by customs for owning it for some time as opposed to just buying it, lesson learnt.
