Banjo rear question for the experts

I have a '28 roadster on '32 frame with a '37 rear end. A while ago I broke my drive shaft and took the opportunity to rebuild the whole rear end correctly. I just found out my torque tube is warped from heat distortion from welding radius rod mount on, this probably caused the drive shaft break. Question is... can I just replace my shortened '42 torque tube for a stock '32? Will the later(40's) driveshaft and 48" radius rods work with it?

No. The common 32 torque tube has a different pilot dia on the banjo end. 32 and the late 32-34 banjo rears are different lengths than the 37 banjo. I would get a replacement 35-38 torque tube and driveshaft and shorten them.

Early '32 (most common) rear is very similar to the Model A. Big difference in your case is that the flange where the torque tube bolts to the banjo casting is round with a smaller (pretty sure on this) bolt circle than the later '32 through '34 (less common version of the '32) which have a scalloped profile and larger bolt pattern. Also, in '35, the rear was redesigned again. This time, the flange remained the same, but the face of the flange was moved about 3/8" further ahead of the axle centerline. So, if you could get a later '32 torque tube, it would push the banjo to the rear and it might contact the rear crossmember.
