1 thing to consider about using the beads they actually are much more accurate at balancing because if your brake drum is slightly out of balance the beads will actually help compensate for that whereas a static weight on a tire only takes into consideration the balance of the actual tire!

Something else I've been thinking about. The recommendation is 1oz of beads for every 13lbs of wheel & tire combined weight. What is the downside of adding more than the recommended amount? This would help with the drum/rotor being slightly out of balance wouldn't it?
